Open Door Project

Creating Compassion Through Deep Listening and Shared Humanity

Date

November 14, 2018 -
1:00pm to 3:00pm

“People fail to get along because they fear each other. They fear each other because they don’t know each other. They don’t know each other because they have not communicated with each other.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.

What do you wish people knew about you and why do you think they don't yet? And how can we get beyond our fears to truly be “in relationship” with others?

This interactive session will be facilitated by Erika Gold Kestenberg. Dr. Kestenberg has spent her life working in the field of education in urban spaces in schools and non-profits throughout Pittsburgh and in Israel. Her work includes transformative intergroup dialogues, culturally responsive teaching, professional development through training and coaching, creating and managing educational programs, and advocacy, all with a grounding in diversity, inclusion, equity and justice.
