The Open Door Project is a new Dietrich School diversity and inclusion initiative. The Project's objectives are:
- Making the Dietrich School more welcoming to all, particularly underrepresented minority students.
- Offering programs and trainings aimed at increasing the sensitivity, cultural competence, and knowledge of Dietrich School faculty and staff to help them be better mentors, advocates, and ambassadors to all students.
- Making available educational and expert resources to aid us in developing a more accepting, supportive, nonthreatening climate within which we, as a community, can continue talking about and addressing issues of diversity and inclusion.
- Providing opportunities for a wide range of faculty, staff, and students to participate in shaping the school’s diversity agenda.
To accomplish these objectives, we have developed a menu of both ongoing and stand-alone programming that will occur throughout the University’s Year of Diversity, while laying the groundwork for continued efforts well beyond the conclusion of this signature celebration.
